At first you will have the impression of being in Greece, but we are still within the Italian borders: we are talking about the “White Lady”, the village of Ostuni. This city was built on three hills and is famous for the beautiful effect of the almost blinding sunlight reflecting off the walls of its whitewashed houses. You will walk through the narrow streets. We will also be able to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Adriatic coast from which Ostuni is separated by an ocean of centuries-old olive trees. Before starting our walk in the historic center, we stop along the ancient walls to take a panoramic photo. You will then walk along the defense walls that lead to the historic center of the city. We will reach “Piazza della Libertà” where we find the town hall and the column dedicated to Sant’Oronzo. Subsequently we will head towards the medieval part of the city through narrow, whitewashed alleys to then reach and visit the Cathedral of the Assumption in Romanesque-Gothic style (1435).
