At the beginning of the papier-mâché workshop, we will tell you about the origins of the Carnival and in particular of the Carnival of Putignano (one of the oldest in Europe according to historical evidence). Afterwards, we will show you how the typical papier-mâché floats, as tall as a three-story building, are conceived, designed and created every year.
Now in the thick of the papier-mâché course, you can roll up your sleeves and create an artistic papier-mâché object yourself that you will take home at the end of the experience. You will create the artistic papier-mâché object with the technique still used today to decorate the enormous papier-mâché floats, simply using newspaper and flour glue.
